Support Staff

Melanie, Support Specialist
Melanie Pereira (RN) is currently working as a medical nurse with The Hamilton Health Science Corporation, specializing in medicine. She is also employed with Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Newborn and Post-Partum Care. In her spare time Melanie enjoys participating in many sports, walking her golden retriever Winston, and spending time with her new husband.

Susanne, Support Specialist
Susanne Cockshutt (RN) has recently received her Registered Nursing Diploma from Humber College in Etobicoke, Ontario. Susanne is also a certified Personal trainer/Fitness consultant and has extensive experience in Reiki (touch healing). Her nursing knowledge, combined with her expertise in personal fitness, diet plans and stress reduction provides effective advice and support to all of our members. Susanne loves sports and was both an avid skier while living in Whistler British Columbia, and has played Women’s hockey in Canada and abroad.

Josie Rousell (Nurse in Training); Support Specialist
With a BA in Sociology and Criminology at York University already under her belt, Josie Rousell is currently completing a second degree, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at McMaster University. Josie’s interests include exploring how Internet communities and virtual Support Groups mirror traditional communities and Support Groups in “real world” settings. She is especially interested in non-traditional means of health care delivery. When she’s not studying or busy posting in V-CC Support Groups, Josie enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family.
